Jesus is the Son of God

Psalm 2:7 -- I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father (Also Hebrews 1:5).
Matthew 1:18 -- This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
John 3:16 -- "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
John 14:28--...If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.
Matthew 3:17 -- And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased."
Matt 26:63-64 -- But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God."  "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied.
Romans 1:4 -- ...and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.
Comment:
The sonship of Jesus was predetermined in the mind and plan of God from eternity, but he did not really exist until he was born in Bethlehem.  As my mentor Robert Sabin described, when a homebuilder looks at blueprints of his future home, they see the plans for the bathroom and say, "There's the bathroom."  They can see it in their mind's eye, but it doesn't exist yet.  The plan of Jesus' birth, life, sacrifice, and death was similar. You might say, God had a blueprint of salvation that was so real to him he could see it as though it already existed.  Romans 4:17 tells us "God...calls things that are not as though they were."  Psalm 2:7 (quoted above) in the KJV states "this day have I begotten thee." Jesus was God's son, his only son—he had a birthday which means there was a time when he did not exist.    The spirit of God is eternal, without beginning or end.  Man is not eternal.  As a man, Jesus  had a beginning.  The humanity of Jesus died as a sacrifice for our sins at Calvary.   The spirit of the risen Christ, humanity and divinity together will never end.  Since the first Christmas day, Jesus will always be God, and God will always be man.  1 Corinthians 15:28 describes a time when "God will be all, and in all."  The sonship of Jesus as mediator to the human race will no longer be necessary when there is no more sin, no more death, no more sorrow.  Jesus will always be God's only begotten son.

Dealing with Changes....

I've been having a lot of stress lately due to some changes I'm making in my life. There are certain people that can be 'toxic' in your life, especially when you're a Christian, and sometimes the best thing to do is to let them go. I've prayed countless times for some people in my life to change, but after all the pain and suffering I've realized that the change has to start with me making a change!

I have been struggling with a ton of emotions the past few days. From depression, sadness, worry and even anger. The demons found me at a vulnerable moment and made their attacks. Not only with feelings of inadequacy and anger, but also by two people from my past (who were very bad influences on me), who happened to contact me within those 2 days! That devil pulls all his cards at your worst moment!

"Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" Ephesians 6:13-17.

From reading Ephesians 6:13-17, it's clear that we all will be attacked by demons at some point or another. But the key is to "take on the armor of God", by using his word. The sayings that I personally bring up when I'm feeling spiritually attacked are, "He that is within me is stronger than he that is in the world", and "With God by my side, what can man do to me?", and of coarse I always say, "I rebuke any evil spirits in the name of Jesus!".  As long as you mention Jesus' mighty, powerful name, the demons are sure to flee! :)

And also keep in mind that if you're on the right path in your life where you're going to make a positive change which will bring you closer to God and His purpose, the devil will try to do what he can to intervene and cast you down. Don't be a victim of evil, fight him off, rebuke him any time you start questioning yourself or start getting depressed!

More verses that lifted me up and gave me confidence to continue with my plans:

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:6-7)

“Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God” (Psalm 42:5)

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones” (Proverbs 3:5-8).

“…the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:26-28).

Fornication and Adultery: Deliverance Prayer

I came across this really great deliverance prayer for those struggling with fornication, lust, adultery and the like from wherepeacefulwaters.com, and I want to share this deliverance prayer for everyone who is in need of it. We live in a fallen world, and sometimes even though our intentions are good, our flesh may fail us. Matthew 26:41 tells us, "Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."

Fornication and Adultery Deliverance Prayer:

Father,
I come boldly before Your throne of grace and mercy to find help and strength my time of need.  Lord Your word says to watch and pray so that we will not enter into temptation, for we know that the spirit is willing, but Father my flesh is weak.

Lord, I submit myself to You, for Your word says that if we submit ourselves unto You, that we could resist the enemy and he would flee from us.  Lord I am fully submitted to You, all that I am, all that I ever hope to be.  I surrender unto You.

Father, I am weak but thou art strong, I know in my weakness You are made strong.  I know that my strength is not in my will to withstand the devil and his many temptations, but my faith, my strength, my hope is in You.  Therefore, Lord I confess that I am strong in You, and in the power of Your might.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I cast down every wicked, lustful, lascivious, and unclean thought of the enemy in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  I refuse to allow any thoughts of the enemy to enter in; I dismiss them from me in the name of Jesus.  Father, I pray that You will cause me to think upon those things which are pure, honest, and of a good report, and I pray that You will not allow my mind to wander into idleness, but to stay upon the name of Jesus.

Father, I pray that You will place upon me the whole amour of God, so that I will always be able to stand against the tricks of the enemy.  I pray that You will lead and deliver me from every temptation of lust, sin, and evil.

In the name of Jesus, I take authority over Satan, every principality, every evil spirit, and every spirit of wickedness in high places.  I bind them up in the name of Jesus Christ and render them helpless from operating in my life.  In the name of Jesus I bind and cast off ever spirit of lust, adultery, fornication, lasciviousness, and uncleanliness in my life. Father, I surrender my body to you as a living sacrifice, and I recognize that my body is the temple of the Almighty Living God and a dwelling place for His Holy Spirit and I rejoice in knowing that the blood of Jesus Christ covers me.

Satan, in the name of Jesus, every stronghold, You have tried to bring against me has been rendered helpless, powerless and ineffective to operate in my life, by the authority of Jesus Christ! I put off all forms of lust and put on the new nature of righteousness, purity, and honesty. Jesus has defeated satan in my life, and now you are under my feet, and your power of lust and sin is broken in my life.

Father, I thank You for hearing my prayer, and delivering me from the tricks of the enemy.  I thank You for Your word and how it is established in my heart and in my life.  I thank You for giving me power over the enemy, I thank You for strengthening me so that I will not defile my body, and that it will be a temple for the Holy Spirit.  Thank You Lord, for restoring me, for cleansing me, and for forgiving me for my weakness.  I praise You; I give You all the glory and say Hallelujah to the name of Jesus.

How To Pray Effectively And Hear From God

What does it take to hear from God? Is there a secret "formula" to get your prayers answered? Many people ask these questions every day. Some are frustrated because no matter how many times they pray the same prayer, they never get an answer.

My question to the people having this problem is this; Are you looking for the answer you want? Or are you open to hearing what it is God wants? Are you seeking to do God's will, or are you seeking God to fulfil your will? Do you see the difference? The problem isn't that God is not listening, the problem is that a lot of times, we're not listening!

So what's the solution? The first thing we have to do in order to have effective prayer and to hear from God is to surrender ourselves to Him. These verses shed light on how to do this;

“If anyone wants to become my follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me." (Luke 9:23)

"Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice – alive, holy, and pleasing to God – which is your reasonable service." (Romans 12:1)

"My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways." (Proverbs 23:26)

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13)

To deny yourself means to seek God's will before your own. It means giving up on anything that is displeasing to God. It means self-sacrifice. Is this too much for God to ask of us? Considering what Jesus did for us, it's reasonable!

Here's an example! When Jesus foresaw the pain He was going to endure, He prayed; “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” (Luke 22:42)

The next step for effective prayer is FAITH! If you are praying to God but lack faith, your prayer is ineffective. If you are seeking God, you must first believe He is God and that He is able to do everything we ask of Him!

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (Hebrews 11:6)

"Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” (Matthew 14:21)

“Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)

"Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God." (1 Peter 1:21)

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.  But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.  Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do." (James 1:5-8)

Conclusion: If you want to hear from God, you must surrender your life completely to God, and you must have faith! If you're only praying to get what you want, without any regard for what the Lord wants to do with you and your life, it's as if your prayers are hitting a brick wall and coming back to you void. Submit to God, and although you may not get what you want every time, you will always get just what you need. I call it "LTO", Listen, Trust, and Obey.

God bless!

Jesus came to save us from our sin

Matthew 1:21 -- "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
John 1:29 -- The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
John 3:17 -- For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but tosave the world through him.
Hebrews 7:27 -- ...He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
I John 1:7 -- But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
I John 3:5 -- But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.
Comment:
The name of Jesus in New Testament Greek is "Iesous" (e-ay-soos').  The origin of Jesus' name is found in the Old Testament names "Joshua, Jehoshuah, or Jehoshua," pronounced Yehowshuwa` (yeh-ho-shoo'-ah); or Yehowshua. These names mean Jehovah-saved, Jehovah saves, Jehovah saviour. The name of Jesus was not decided upon in an arbitrary fashion as most children's names are.  Jesus' name was decided based upon his mission in life, and his mission was determined from the foundation of the world—He was to save us from our sins (Revelation 13:8) with one sacrifice for all time.  The significance of the name of Jesus does not end with his mission in life.  It is also found in the fact that Jesus is Jehovah.  The one true God, who "stretched out the heavens alone, and spread out the earth by himself" (Isaiah 44:24), came to earth to save us by living as Jesus Christ.  "God did not send someone else to save the world...he came himself."

Bible on Forgivess: How Many Times Do We Forgive without Being Doormats?

Forgiveness..It's sometimes the most difficult thing to do. Especially when you're told you have to forgive someone who hurt you deeply in your life. But how many times are we obligated to forgive someone without becoming doormats? Do we have to forgive at all?

You Must Forgive:

Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Luke 6:37
Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Matthew 6:14-16
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Mark 11:25
And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.

How Many Times do we Have to Forgive?:

Matthew 18:21-22
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, "I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

It's clear than in order for us to be forgiven, we have to also forgive others-even our worst enemies. Yep, it's a lot to ask for, but if Jesus forgave us, and can forgive even a murderer who repents, who are we to say we're too good to forgive others?
And when Peter asked if seven times was enough, Jesus said "seventy seven times"! Jesus doesn't want us to give people only one chance, but unlimited chances! How many chances would you want? We can treat others the same!

God bless!
